The term “close to the motor” describes a design in which the frequency inverter is mounted directly on the electric motor or in close proximity to the motor within the system. This design makes it possible to shorten the cable lengths between the inverter and the motor.
This can reduce costs such as for motor cables, the space around the control cabinet or switch room and EMC problems. In pumps and fans, motor proximity can also lead to a reduction in installation costs.
